Today we travelled to Abram-Village for a super great concert presented by:

The Village Musical Acadian is pleased to welcome Miller | MacDonald | Cormier on September 21, 2019 at 8 pm. These three young artists create a powerful sound, which transcends the boundaries between Cape Breton, Scottish, and Acadian traditions.  We really enjoyed hearing these young folk play their music.  It was the first time I had seen a “lowlands” bag pipe. It was very nice to see and hear with the fiddle and guitar.  See a short clip here on YouTube:

We wish we had been aware of this venue sooner as they have a restaurant and bakery featuring Acadian food but that part stopped mid-September.

September 22

A quiet day around the campsite basking in the sun and watching the waters of the Northumberland Strait.  A beautiful sunny day on the island.  Elizabeth cleaned some of the shells gathered on the Madeleine Islands and has plans for a few of them.

We have made some plans for our trip home.  More than likely we will be stopping at Fundy National Park, near St. John and then heading through Maine to Quebec stopping at Lac-Brome for a few days.

Sept 23
Sending this out because I'm in a Tim's that actually has decent internet!  Quite day, laundry, errands, massage for E and generally being quite.  Storm front moving in as we ready to move on from PEI.

Aug 20, Anne of Green Gables.  The musical. Elizabeth was brave and went swimming in the Atlantic this a.m.  Actually, the temperature was not bad but I’m a cold-water swim wimp so just dabbled my toes. We went off to Charlottetown in the evening and to the theatre.  A super well done musical of Anne of Green Gables.  What can I say? Aug 21, The Fiddling Fisherman, Souris. We left camp early in the day to wander along the North East coast drive and see more of the island on our way to an event we have booked.  The PEI National Park is separated (physically) in three sections.  The middle area is mainly sand dunes.  We were able to visit the campground there and have our picnic lunch.   We made our way to Souris where we will return for the ferry to the Magdalene Islands next week. AUG 26 We went to the tourist info center in Cavendish to blog and upload our latest including a short You tube.  Elizabeth downloaded some library books and then we went to Avonlea Village for Cows ice cream and to see if they had a particular T‑shirt but it seems they only print their newer T’s.  We came back for an Instant Pot dinner (scrumptious) and headed to Charlottetown where we had the best tea and hot chocolate in a restaurant (Casa Mia Café) before seeing Anne and Gilbert the Musical. The show was fantastic, in a smaller theater. Three of the cast (understudies) were substituted. Including Anne – the understudy performed flawlessly.  Great show that had been cancelled from our original Friday booking. 1,2 August 2019 Kingston This is a bag our daughter Kelly gave us last year for our five month adventure west and to the Arctic ocean. Love it! It doesn’t seem to matter what time you leave Guelph to try and travel on the 401 past Toronto.    We left Guelph about 11:30 on a Thursday and hit stop and go from before Milton to past Whitby.   Anyhow made it to a nice RV park that we have stayed in before called Rideau Acres Campground just outside of Kingston on Lake Ontario.    Friday Aug. 2 Les Cedres/Montreal Today we’ll head for Les Cedres, just outside of Montreal where we will visit friends for a couple of days.   Staying at the Montreal West KOA. Shot of the seaway from Clifford: Tonight, there is a Toast and Café BBQ (??wait what??) hosted by the camp.    The  best part is the caramel sauce on the toast.
